July’s Meeting

My apologies for the late newsletter, I didn’t believe the changes a new born can have in ones life, but it is true, and well worth it too!  This month is magic in a bag which was first introduced by former Assembly President and current National Second Vice President soon to be First Vice President , compeer Vinny Grosso.  The bags will have new and old items in them.  Teams will be formed and everyone will have a set amount of time to develop a trick or routine.  I look foeward to seeing you all tomorrow!

The Web Site – Pictures of the last meeting

Want to see pictures of the last meeting, visit www.sam24.org.  Please take a moment if you have not and fill-in or update your member information.  Compeer Dave MacDonald has worked long hours and produced a fantastic website.  He also updated the clip of the month which shows Ed Alonzo performing on the Late Late Show.  Ed is currently touring with pop music star Britney Spears with her circus themed show.

Magic News…

On Wednesday July 8th an NBC affiliate reported on an altercation between magician and Illusionist Jonathan Pendragon and his wife Charlotte.  The two had an argument in their home where Jonathan fired a gun at the floor during the encounter.  Charlotte called the authorities and Jonathan was arrested.  If you would like to read more about this story visit the KSBY website: http://www.ksby.com/Global/story.asp?S=10664308.

Fundraiser News

We have had several meetings on our new annual fundraiser.  Compeer Willis White is looking into a location for us at the Saratoga Elks Club.  This venue has a raised platform and an ideal space for to accommodate an audience.  IT is possible that we will perform two shows in two locations over a one week period.  More details will come as we secure a location.  Thanks you to Willis and Bob Connors for looking into these possible venues.

Assembly News

Our congratulations go out to our own compeer Vinny Grosso who has been elected to the position of National First Vice President of the Society of American Magicians.  If all goes well, Vinny will be elected to National President in 2011 at the national conference in Pittsburg, PA.
