September Meeting

 Michael Paul

Presents

"Blown Away"

This month we welcome Michal Paul for a night of great magic.  Michael Paul was recently voted as one of the top three up and coming magicians in the world by “The Magic Woods”, Michael Paul is quickly making a name for himself in the magic world.  Currently, Michael performs on a regular basis off-Broadway, at Monday Night Magic; the longest running magic show in New York, where he works along side of the most influential magicians in the world.  You can also find Michael Paul performing close up magic in the VIP suites of the Venetian Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, and in the close up room of the world famous Magic Castle.  This will be a great night, and remember, if you are member in good standing and up-to-date on your dues, this lecture is free to you, or $20.00 will get you in.

The Web Site – Pictures of the last meeting

Want to see pictures of the last meeting, visit www.sam24.org.  Please take a moment if you have not and fill-in or update your member information.  Compeer Dave MacDonald has worked long hours and produced a fantastic website.  He also updated the clip of the month which shows Shawn Farquar performing his award winning routine at FISM 2009.  Although I am not a big fan of cards, this is a well thought out rountine that was executed perfectly.  I especially liked the sequence at 4 minutes, 50 seconds.

Fundraiser News

We have had several meetings on our new annual fundraiser.  Compeer Willis White is looking into a location for us at the Saratoga Elks Club.  This venue has a raised platform and an ideal space for to accommodate an audience.  IT is possible that we will perform two shows in two locations over a one week period.  More details will come as we secure a location.  Thanks you to Willis and Bob Connors for looking into these possible venues.

SAM National Conference for 2010

Did you miss the conference this year?  Well then start your planning for Atlanta, Georgia on June 30th through July 3rd.  More details will be available as we get closer.  In the meantime, check for updates at the 2010 Conference page of the SAM website.

Assembly News

I big THANK YOU goes out to Bob and Linda Connors for hosting the annual IBM picnic.  A beautiful day, great food, and show second to none!  Thank you to our brothers and sisters of IBM for inviting us, we had a great time.

Next month will be Magic Mania night (pending the National First Vice President Vinny Grosso can make it).  Prizes and fun for all.  Snacks and beverages will be served.  You do not have to participate, however, teams will be created, so be a contestant or an audience member, but be sure to be there!
