Happy Holidays from Assembly 24 December MeetingThe December meeting will be the big meeting of the year. On this most important night we will honor our dear compeer and friend Clem Kinnicutt and bestow upon the title of Dean of Assembly 24. We will have our pot luck dinner, and other treats and an all star show. The location is Dave’s Church in Troy. Although we will have several special guests to help honor Clem, I can tell you that Compeer and Dean of the Society of American Magicians George Schindler and his wife Nina Schindler will be attending. Plus George will be conducting the ceremony for Clem and performing! This is a must see event!Pot Luck for December MeetingPlease bring a dish to share. Make enough to share with 7-9 people. Desserts are always welcome. The club will provide pizza. This is the one meeting each year that family and guests are welcome, I will be bring my wife and six month old Anne. The meeting will start at 7:00pm which is earlier than normal. Call or e-mail me if you have any questions. I will be home tomorrow, but out all day Tuesday right up until the meeting, my number is 831-9222.Magic News…As reported by Magic Magazine, Carl Ballantine, “The World’s Greatest Magician,” and also know as the Amazing Ballantine died at the age of 92 on November 3rd peacefully in his sleep. He was an icon to generations of fans. I remember watching him do magic on the Cosby Show. |

The Web Site – Pictures of the last meetingWant to see pictures of the last meeting, visit www.sam24.org. Please take a moment if you have not and fill-in or update your member information. Compeer Dave MacDonald has worked long hours and produced a fantastic website. Check out the clip of the month which shows an amazing color change. I have seen this one before and it is well done, I don’t want to give too much away though, so check it out for yourself. SAM National Conference for 2010Did you miss the conference this year? Well then start your planning for Atlanta, Georgia on June 30th through July 3rd. More details will be available as we get closer. In the meantime, check for updates at the 2010 Conference page of the SAM website. Plus put aside time in 2011 to go to PA for the installment of our own Vinny Grosso as President of the Society of American Magicians*. This should be the event of the month of July in 2011, or at least the week of the conference. Video for December MeetingClem does not read this far down, so we have a special treat to announce, Vinny has been collecting video’s of infamous performers’ congratulating Clem. Even I don’t know who they are, and you want to find out, be at the Church in Troy on December 8th at 7:00 pm sharp! January MeetingAs of now…nothing is set in stone, we will briefly discuss it during the December meeting. However, according to the bylaws of our organization we will be conducting elections at the January meeting. Anyone interested in running for office, please let me know. That’s All Folks!
